ABSTRACT

This study aims to analyze tourists' perceptions regarding natural authenticity and tourist comfort, identify the gap between these two aspects, determine priority areas for improvement, and formulate an eco-zoning strategy for Sukamakmur Tourism Village, Deli Serdang Regency. A quantitative approach with a descriptive design was employed. Data were collected through observation, questionnaires, documentation, and literature review. Respondents consisted of tourists visiting Sukamakmur Tourism Village, selected using accidental sampling. Likert scale served as the research instrument. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and gap analysis to identify the disparity between natural authenticity and tourist comfort, serving as the basis for eco-zoning recommendations. The results indicate that tourist perception of natural authenticity falls into the high category, with an average score of 37.46; the aspects of natural condition authenticity and environmental quality received the highest scores, at 38.20 each. Meanwhile, perception regarding tourist comfort falls into the moderate category, with an average score of 27.52. Based on these findings, the eco-zoning strategy is structured around three main zones: the conservation zone, the buffer zone, and the utilization zone. The conservation zone focuses on protecting areas with high authenticity and ecological value; the buffer zone serves as a transitional space with limited tourism activities; and the utilization zone acts as the hub for concentrating tourism facilities and activities.
