Instructions for Authors
Manuscript submission for the Journal of Tourism Studies is done through the Online/E-Journal/OJS of the Journal of Tourism Studies.
Furthermore, for information/notification of revisions, acceptance or rejection of manuscripts sent via OJS and email, as well as the results of manuscript corrections/improvements from editors and Reviewers must be re-entered via OJS.
Instructions for Authors / Online Manuscript Submission or as a Journal Reader:
- Visitors are required to have a “user name” by first (clicking) “registering” and creating their own password so that they can enter / access the Journal of Tourism Studies and fill out a complete Profile. Authors need to 'Register' with the Journal of Tourism Studies before submitting their manuscripts. However, if you have already registered, then do the login step and start the five-step process of submitting a manuscript.

(4) Upload Additional Files; (5) Confirmation - “Login” is required for 'Readers' who want the full manuscript and can download the PDF or Authors who want to submit a manuscript and can check the status of the manuscript they sent until it is published, while information on manuscripts that are reviewed will be notified via email;
- If you only want to search or view the contents of the Journal, either the name or the manuscript that has been published in the Journal of Tourism Studies, please select the 'SEARCH' menu.
Instructions for Authors
Authors who wish to submit a manuscript must pay attention to the points below. If the manuscript does not comply with the requirements that have been listed, there is a possibility that the manuscript will be returned.
- Articles must be original and in the form of the results of field research or the results of conceptual thinking, related to social and development; and Articles are not in the process of submitting publications in other journals and have never been published in Proceedings and or other Scientific Journals.
- Articles are written in Indonesian, in accordance with applicable language usage rules. Articles are typed with 1 (one) space on A4 paper using the MS-Word for Windows word processing program, using “Times New Romans” 11 font, without hard-hyphenation, and a length of 3,500-5,500 words.
- The title of the article should be specific and effective, no more than 12 words. With 18 font size
Author Identity is written with full name and no title. Include the author's affiliation/institution address and email address according to the example below:

- Articles are accompanied by an abstract in English and Indonesian (two languages), each containing 100 to 250 words, accompanied by 3 to 5 keywords.
- The manuscript is made in the form of 2 (two) columns, except for the main title, author's name and abstract.
- The writing systematics of the Journal of Tourism Studies is as follows:
- In writing articles, avoid using dot points, alphabets, or numbering as in the following examples:
1. ......................
2. ......................
But write it in a series of sentences, as follows: (1) ....; (2) ....
Articles are written in essay form, so there is no numeric (or alphabetical) format that separates between chapters / sections, or to mark new chapters / sections; Conclusions are not detailed in points, but in the form of paragraphs.
- Each citation must mention the most recent source of literature in full and be written with a running note system, for example:
book:
... this is also stated by Alamsyah (2015) that the three powers must be divided in such a way that they are separate from the others.
journals:
... “Globalization that leads to homogenization” (Ramdhani, 2012).
The bibliography should prioritize publications published in the last five years, compiled using the APA Style system (APA Style Guide), using alphabetical order. For each reference source, the bibliography is written as follows:
- For Table writing
Tables are numbered (1, 2, and so on) according to the order in the main text. Each table is given a short title that explains the relevance of the content in the main text, and is written on top of the table in Bold.
For Image writing
Each illustration, whether in the form of diagrams or photographs, can be included in the figure and numbered consecutively (1, 2, etc.). Each figure is given a short title that explains the relevance of the content in the main text, and is written at the bottom of the diagram or photo in italics.
- Authors must cite at least 1 (one) relevant article from the Journal of Tourism Studies, as a reference.
- The manuscript will be peer reviewed (blind reviewer), by 2 (two) reviewers. The review results are submitted via email and OJS.
- Manuscripts that have been peer reviewed and declared eligible for publication must submit proof of plagiarism free (Form1).
- Accepted manuscripts are charged Rp. 250.000, - and if the author requires a Hard Cover version, a printing fee of Rp. 100,000 / copy (printed version) will be charged.
