Abstract

ABSTRACT

The development of the hospitality industry in the city of Bandung is having a negative impact on the environment. The increasing use of electricity and groundwater by the hospitality industry in Bandung, if not anticipated early, will have an impact on future generations. Most hotels have adopted the concept of green hotels to minimize this impact. This concept requires support or pro-environmental behavior from hotel guests. Guests can directly reduce the use of natural resources, energy, and waste through pro-environmental movements. However, the factors that determine guests' decisions to behave pro-environmentally in such hotels have not been sufficiently explored. Therefore, the researcher wants to further explore the determinants of guest behavior in performing pro-environmental behavior in hotels using the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB). The research method used in this study was a quantitative method with Smart-PLS as the testing tool. The sample used in this study was 68 people. The results of the data analysis found that the TPB construct was able to explain guests' decision-making to behave pro-environmentally (the results can be seen in the conclusion). The strength of beliefs in the benefits of pro-environmental behavior in hotels, normative beliefs, and control factors determine hotel guests' behavior.
